Kay & Que was established with financial assistance of BSRS in June 1983 having annual capacity production of 200 million pieces of carbon rod for the Dry cell battery industry. The project went into commercial operation in November 1989. Gradually the company increased its capacity and the present rated capacity is 250 million. However, due to forward & backward linkage constraints, decline in demand curve and production difficulties etc. the management of the company was compelled to shut down the operation of Carbon Rod, Coal Tar and Pesticides manufacturing activities at different times.
Currently, the company is running its business through operation of CNG filling and re-fueling station, Boulder Business and Land Lease of the factory premises of the company.
